Idle Farm Privacy Policy
Last updated 23 October 2026
The short version
- Idle Farm has no accounts. We don't ask for your name, email or any other personal details.
- Your farm is saved on your iPhone, and to your own iCloud account if you're signed in. We can't see it.
- The game shows optional ads that you choose to watch for in-game rewards. These come from Google AdMob, which collects some data to show and measure ads.
- You decide whether ads can be personalised, and whether the app may track you. You can change both at any time.
Who we are
Idle Farm is made by Kial Harrison, an independent developer based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). For anything about this policy or your data, email privacy@kialharrison.com.
What the game stores
On your device
Your game progress (crops, coins, upgrades and settings such as sound and haptics) is saved on your iPhone. It stays there until you delete the app.
In iCloud
If you're signed in to iCloud, your save is also stored in your private iCloud storage through Apple's CloudKit, so it can move between your devices. Only your Apple Account can access it, and we can't read it. Apple handles this data under the Apple Privacy Policy. You can turn iCloud off for the app in your iPhone's Settings.
What we don't collect
We don't run our own servers, analytics or crash reporting, and we don't collect your contacts, photos, location or anything else from your device. We don't sell data.
Ads
Idle Farm only shows "rewarded" ads: short videos you choose to watch for a reward, such as faster growth. You never have to watch one to play.
Ads are provided by Google AdMob. When an ad is requested or shown, Google may collect:
- Your device's IP address, which can indicate your rough location
- Device and app information, such as your iPhone model, iOS version and language
- Advertising identifiers. Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) is only shared if you allow tracking when asked.
- How you interact with ads, such as views and taps
- Diagnostic data used to keep ads working and to prevent fraud
Google uses this to show ads, measure them, limit how often you see the same ad and detect fraud. Where you've agreed, it also uses the data to personalise ads. Google acts as an independent controller of this data. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices about ads
- Consent (UK, EU and EEA): the first time you open the game, Google's consent form asks whether your data may be used for personalised ads. If you say no, you may still see ads, but they won't be personalised. You can change your answer at any time in the game under Settings → Ad privacy choices.
- Tracking: iOS asks whether Idle Farm may track you across other companies' apps and websites. Choosing "Ask App Not to Track" stops the IDFA being shared. You can change this in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Personalised ads in general: iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising, and Google's My Ad Center.
Why we can use your data (UK and EU)
| What | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Saving your game on your device and in iCloud | Providing the game you asked for |
| Personalised ads, and storing or reading ad identifiers on your device | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Non-personalised ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention | Legitimate interests (keeping the game free and ads honest) |
How long data is kept
Saves on your device and in iCloud stay until you delete them, for example by deleting the app or removing its data from iCloud in your iPhone's Settings. Google keeps ad data according to its own retention policies.
International transfers
Google and Apple may process data outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States, using legal safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and the UK–US data bridge.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict how it's used, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Because we don't hold your personal data ourselves, most requests are best made to Google (for ads) or Apple (for iCloud). We're happy to help: email privacy@kialharrison.com.
If you're in the UK and unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. In the EU you can contact your local data protection authority.
California residents: we don't sell your personal information. Sharing data with Google for personalised ads may count as "sharing" under California law. You can stop it by declining personalised ads and tracking as described above.
Children
Idle Farm isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has provided personal data through the game, contact us and we'll help remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the game uses data, for example by adding purchases or analytics, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
